Frequently asked
questions.

Clear answers about our vehicles, licensing, insurance options and rental process.

Vehicles & availability

Where can I see your available vehicles?

Our live vehicle availability, photographs and current offers are published on the Red Kite Rentals Facebook page. Availability changes regularly, so Facebook is the best place to see what is ready now.

What types of vehicles do you offer?

Our fleet includes manual and automatic vehicles, with petrol, diesel and hybrid options. The models available at any given time will vary.

Are your vehicles Euro 6 compliant?

Yes. Red Kite Rentals specialises in Euro 6 compliant private hire vehicles.

Do you offer both Newcastle and Durham plated vehicles?

Yes. We offer Newcastle and Durham licensed private hire vehicles, subject to current availability.

Does the plate mean I can only work in Newcastle or Durham?

No. Newcastle or Durham refers to the authority that licenses the vehicle; it does not mean you have to live or work only in that location.

Insurance & maintenance

Can insurance be included with my rental?

Yes. Red Kite Rentals can provide insurance with a rental, subject to eligibility and the terms confirmed by our team.

Can I arrange my own insurance?

Yes. You can arrange your own fully comprehensive insurance, provided it is suitable for private hire use and the required documents are accepted before the vehicle is collected.

Which insurance option should I choose?

That depends on your circumstances and preferred arrangement. Speak to our team and we’ll explain the rental options available; if arranging your own cover, confirm that it meets all private hire and rental requirements.

Are rental vehicles maintained?

Yes. Our vehicles are maintained and prepared for professional private hire work. Contact us if you need the exact maintenance arrangements for a particular rental.
